Bộ phim
được chuyển thể từ manga nổi tiếng "Usagi Drop" của tác giả Yumi Unita.
Ngoại cảnh của bộ phim được quay chủ yếu ở thành phố Kanagawa, tỉnh
Kanagawa, Nhật Bản.

Daikichi (Kenichi Matsuyama) là một người đàn ông độc thân 27 tuổi tận
tụy với công việc. Khi anh về dự đám tang của ông mình, anh đã phát hiện
ra ông có một đứa con gái ngoài giá thú và mẹ cô bé thì không rõ là ai.
Cô bé tên là Rin (Mana Ashida) và mới chỉ 6 tuổi.

Mọi người trong gia đình Daikichi coi Rin là một nỗi xấu hổ và không ai
muốn nhận nuôi cô bé. Khó chịu với thái độ của mọi người trong gia đình,
Daikichi quyết định đưa cô bé về sống cùng anh. Nhưng anh không có kinh
nghiệm nuôi trẻ, và anh sớm nhận ra rằng việc nuôi một đứa trẻ một mình
là việc khó khăn biết nhường nào.
